The Venezuelan Mycological Asociation called Asociacion Venezolana de Micologia (AVM) was created on October 7, 1993 in a meeting at Cachicamo Biological Station that belongs to Los Andes University, located inside the Caparo Forest Reserve, at Barinas State, Venezuela.
